3 Reasons To Buy The Honda CBR600RR In 2025

The middleweight sports bike segment is the hottest it’s ever been. It was once limited to 600cc inline-four bikes, but today, you can get anything from a 689cc parallel-twin setup to a 889cc inline-triple engine. In all this variety, you can easily overlook some excellent bikes, and the Honda CBR600RR is one such example. While it might not look as tempting on paper, we’re here to tell you why you should still consider it as your middleweight supersport purchase in 2025. Let’s dive in.

Screaming Engine With Unbeaten Reliability

All of the new kids on the block feature relatively new engines. And we all know new engines can come with a trade-off: reliability. That’s where the CBR600RR reigns supreme. Its 599cc, inline-four engine is arguably the most proven in the market—not just in the segment, either. Not to mention, this was extensively raced in the Moto2 class a few years ago, where it again proved extremely reliable, even with the repeated abuse. Finally, the output is as good as anything else in the segment today. Yes, it’s even in the ballpark of the near-liter 889cc Ducati Panigale V2. You will need to rev it to the moon, though.

Track-Spec Underpinnings To Chase Tenths

Sadly, no new middleweight sports bike is built to chase tenths. Instead, they try to walk a fine line between city usage and track riding. What that means is you’re compromising both things to an extent. The CBR600RR doesn’t do that. It has one focus, and that is to chase tenths around a racetrack. That is very evident from the aggressive aluminum perimeter chassis, razor-sharp rake, and fully adjustable suspension.

No Electronic Intrusions To Spoil The Fun

This can be a boon or a bane, depending on the type of rider you are. We think this is a plus. While there is ample performance here, all of it is linear, and you don’t really need any electronic intrusions unless you’re being a total tool. We’d just plonk on a quickshifter here, which will make life easier on the track. Other than that, just put good tires and push this to the limit!
